Freddy est colombophile depuis 1980. Il a commencé avec son frère au domicile de ses parents à Moerbeke. Il a ensuite démarré sa propre colonie à lors de son déménagement vers Petit-Enghien au début des années 90 avant de migrer vers Welle. En 1995, il s'installe avec son épouse, Marijke Mabilde, et leurs deux filles à Okegem. Ils redémarrent leur passion à zéro, avec des pigeons de Mencke-Haeltermann via Bovaert et Fils et de son ami Vranckx Gaston de Edingen (souches Van den Hoeck, Pauwels et Janssens). Reddy fait ses premières armes sur Quiévrain et Noyon avant de passer avec succes aux concours de fond. Il remporte à plusieurs reprises le championnat du club local d'Okegem. Depuis quelques années, Freddy a décidé de se spécialiser dans les concours de grand demi-fond et de fond. Il joue au Denderbond Ninove, une des plus grande société flandrienne.
